Friday, July 2 - The WCWCD (water district) is putting river water back in their lines, slowly increasing water pressure. As theirs increases so will La Verkin's. Even though the district's line beomces fully pressurized  doesn't mean that our system will handle the turbidity (silt, gravel, debris).

ATTENTION!!!!! Due to the dry climate conditions here in Southern Utah, the La Verkin City Mayor and Council have decided there will be no fireworks allowed within the La Verkin City Limits effective immediately. This ban will be in effect until the Mayor and City council decide otherwise. .

SR-9 was recently designated a National Scenic Byway on February 16, 2021 by the U. S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

Public input request The Five County Association of Governments is updating an existing Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan, whichseeks to understand community risks and vulnerabilities to hazards including problem soils, radon gas, earthquakes, landslides, wildfire, severe weather, drought, and flooding. The plan allows communities to establish relevant mitigation actions that directly address these hazards impacton the communityto reduce risk to the residents, property, economy, and natural environment. La Verkin City is participating in this planning effort to develop a mitigation strategy.

The City of La Verkin, in partnership with the Zion Regional Collaborative, is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to complete environmental review in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The review will address a proposed multi-use trail between the City of La Verkin, UT and the Southern Entrance of Zion National Park. ZRC NEPA RFP.

The format for the upcoming city council meeting has changed slightly due to coronavirus outbreak and social distancing as directed by Governer Herbert. All of the public are welcome to attend at the city council chambers, 6 pm 4/15/20. We ask that 6' social distancing be observed.
